Omersa was commissioned in 2018 to produce a “large” whale based on a 1950’s design. The whale proved a great hit and so they added the “medium” size for the smaller room and a mini size for fun!
The two larger sizes contain an internal frame surrounded with woodwool which allows the piece to be used as a footstool or an occasional table. The miniature size contains an internal weight which enables it to be used as a paperweight.
The whale is available in traditional brown mahogany and in black. Please note the black is not a pure black – there are brown undertones.
- Constructed out of top grain “unfinished” cowhide leather which will develop natural scuff marks reflecting the wear and tear of life.
- Each piece is hand stained a deep mahogany brown which is then waxed and polished.
- Due to the nature of cowhide and the animals' hand-built internal structure, each piece is never the same, giving every piece a unique expression and shape.
- Made to order exclusively for Hunt.
